29TH JULY 2017 // TRACEY ESTATE, HONITON, DEVON.
When Daisy and Tim contacted me about creating their stationery suite, I got very excited. Having met Daisy personally before, I knew her ideas would be creative, unique and a joy to create – which it was.
With the Bride’s family crest including a doe, and the Groom’s a stag, it was only fitting that they would want a design including some sort of emblem joining the two together. Keeping it in the family, Daisy’s sister drew a few deer sketches for us to incorporate into our design. Having received the drawings I fixed them up to make them printable and created a tree pattern for the background – tying in with the beautiful country setting of their venue.
Kraft paper was used throughout, adding texture and creating the perfect backdrop to the final design. The overall layout of her invitations were just simple 7x5 inch and 6x4 inch cards joined together with a kraft belly band adorned with sage green baker’s twine – a personal favourite of mine to use - and tied in lovely with the bridal party colours. Our fonts were a mix of soft script and a modern condensed type for the body text of the invitation complimenting each other perfectly. Ivory accents with envelopes balanced the richness of the stationery, providing an overall softness to the suite.
For the seating plan, I sourced an appropriate ivory mirror and attached postcards detailing the arrangements, with each table named after a certain place in Ireland. The same fonts and motifs in the invitations were carried throughout, including place names and various other items such as seed favour packets we designed for them too.
It was a privilege to work and collaborate on such a fun and different design and I wish Daisy & Tim every happiness in their future together! Cheers! *Glass Clink*
